JAMES SUTTON

  • 1791 - 1864

James was born in Wallasey and baptised on the 30th June 1791 in St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey.

He married Mary Carter, who was born in 1793 (bapt: 1 Jan 1793) in Wallasey on 13 November 1813 at Saint Peter Church Street, Liverpool. James and Mary moved away from the Wallasey area in the 1820's and settled in Heswall, Wirral. On the 1951 census the family are living at Mount Pleasant, Heswall and his occupation is listed as a 'shoemaker'. The 1861 census states that the family was resident in Heswall With Oldfield and employing 1 man in his shoe making business.

James died on the 27th May, 1864 and was buried on the 30th May, 1864 in St. Peter Parish Church, Heswall.

  • James, b. 1820, Liscard; bapt 18 Apr 1820, d. 1853, Poulton-cum-Seacombe.
  • William, b. Abt. 1826, Heswall, Wirral.
  • Samuel, b. 1828, Heswall; bapt. March 02, 1828, St. Peter Parish Church, Heswall.
  • Maria, b. 1830, Heswall.
  • Joseph, b. 1833, Heswall; bapt. 23 January, 1833 St. Peter Parish Church, Heswall.
