The first person to be identified on this headstone is James Sutton, son of James Sutton and grandson of John the Fisherman. James born 18 April 1820 in Liscard and died 1853 in Poulton-cum-Seacombe. He was married to MARY. She was born 1820 in Davenhan.
Children of James Sutton and Mary are:
  • Thomas Sutton, b. 1848, Poulton-cum-Seacombe
  • Elizabeth Sutton, b. November 1850, Poulton-cum-Seacombe
  • James Sutton, b. February 1853, Poulton-cum-Seacombe
Conformation of the year of death was obtained from the National index of Births, Deaths and Marriages for the first quarter for 1853. (Entry 112)
James Sutton their son died on 15th October 1854 in Poulton-cum-Seacombe aged 1 year. James son of James (Labourer, deceased) died of Consumption and his death was reported the Registrar, James Cross, on 18th October 1854 by Mary Williams who was present at the event.

(Entry 41) Charles Sutton died on the 3 January 1883 at 52 Hickman’s Cottages, Poulton-cum-Seacombe aged 4 months. Charles, son of Thomas Sutton a general labourer, died of Hooping Cough and his death was certified by John Connell (L.R.C.P). The event was reported to the Registrar, Charles Stewart on 3 January 1883 by Thomas.
