Margaret was born 29 Dec 1816 in Reeds Farm Moreton, the fourth child and first daughter born to John and Elizabeth.
At the age 23 of Margaret married James Stanley on the 11 April 1839 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. The wedding was witnessed by John (Farmer) and Joseph (Farrier) elder brothers of Margaret.

James Stanley was born on the 25 January 1808 in Dodleston, Cheshire and was baptised on the 13 March 1808 at St Mary Parish Church, Dodleston, Cheshire, the fifth chid of John Stanley and Elizabeth Stubbs.

  • John, b. 18 May 1840, Wallasey; d. 26 December 1912 Saughall Massie, bur Christ Church Moreton; m. Elizabeth Meadows.
  • Elizabeth, b. 2 May 1841, Leasowe; bap 30 May 1841 St Oswalds; m. John Parkinson; d. 6 January 1886.
  • Emma, b. 17 June 1842, Leasowe; bap 30 March 1842, St Oswalds; d. 8 September 1861,Great Meolse; bur 10 September 1861, St. Oswalds Parish Church, Bidston. In 1861, Emma was a servant to John Sutton
  • William, b. 5 March 1844, Leasowe;bap 30 March 1844,St Oswalds; m. Sarah Rowland; d. 18 September 1901, Great Meolse.
  • Maria, b. 28 December 1845, Wallasey; bap 1 Feburary 1846, St Oswalds; d. 4 August 1932, spinister, 13 Probyn Road, Wallasey; bur. 8 August 1932, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston.
  • Mary, b. 7 Jul 1847, Leasowe; d. 7 February 1931, spinster.13 Probyn Road, Wallasey. bur 11 February 1931, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston.
  • Sarah, b. 7 Jul 1849, Leasowe; m. Capt. Brownless.
  • James, b. 30 Mar 1851, Saughall Massey. - Later had the "The Gardens" at Saughall Massey
  • Margaret, b. 20 August 201853, Leasowe; bap. 2 October 1853, St. Oswald; d. 8 May1926, Mill Road Infirmary, Liverpool; occ. assistant school teacher and spinster; bur. 12 May 1926, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston.
  • Martha, b. 18 October 1855, Saughall Massey;bap 25 December 251855, S. Oswalds m. John George Smith.
  • Joseph, b. 23 May 1857, Carr Farm, Moreton,d. 13 January 13 1942, Jasamine Cottage, Barnston Lane, Moreton.
  • Anne, b. 15 Jul 1859, The Carr; bap 4 September 1859, St Oswald Parish; m. John Smith, 29 January 1894, Christ Church Parish Church Moreton.

The 1851 census reveals that James farmed 50 acres in the Wallasey area and by '61 he had moved to a 108 acre farm in Saughall Massey.
